WorkComp UR, formally known as Matian Medical Corp., is one of the nation's first companies found solely with the intent of delivering Utilization Review services fully compliant with California's Labor Code section 4610. Dr. A. David Matian, a California-licensed physician, started the company as "Matian Medical Corp." in January of 2004. The company has always specialized only in delivering the best possible Utilization Review services possible. We recognize California's unique and complicated system and continuously monitor every changing rule and regulation very carefully. Given its narrow and highly specialized niche of services, the company's name was formally changed to "WorkComp UR" in October 2006 while still operating under the corporate structure of Matian Medical Corp.

Dr. Matian has not only appeared in WCAB to testify but also has educated adjusters, attorneys, and Judges on the intricacies of proper Utilization Review- informing specialist in the field that the goal of UR is not only save money but most importantly to provide long term functional benefit  so employees can get back to work.

Dr. David Matian is board certified and licensed to practice medicine in the State of California.  As a major university trained Family Physician, he is knowledgeable, experienced and broadly trained in almost every field of medicine including Orthopedics, Neurology, Internal Medicine, and Occupational and Environmental Medicine.  He is also an osteopathic physician (D.O.), which has enhanced his medical training to include education in chiropractic, physical therapy, and manipulation.
